-“Over It. 2020” Gordley Group’s 2020 holiday card featuring a fold-out game board mocking life in quarantine won a coveted regional ADDY Silver Award given out annually for outstanding creative work by the American Advertising Federation.
The game challenges players to navigate from 2020 to 2021 by moving tokens around a board filled with quarantine joys (found toilet paper! Move ahead 2 squares) and misery (cancel your travel plans - lose a turn.) Other landing spots include “Ouch! Discover a cut while sanitizing your hand - move back 2 squares,” “Happy Zoomsgiving” and the dreaded “Quarantine 15” weight gain square.
“We wanted the card to have both levity and empathy,” said Jan Gordley, President of Gordley Group. “It reflects our shared experiences of being quarantined, both the challenges and some of the absurdities, in what was a difficult year for all of us.”
Gordley Group also earned a local ADDY Award for its “You Don’t Need To Choose” digital media campaign for JobPath, a Pima County-based workforce training and advocacy agency.
The regional American Advertising Awards honors advertising creative work produced by AAF and Ad2 chapter members in Arizona, Utah, Wyoming, Colorado, New Mexico and El Paso, Texas.
The “Over It. 2020” holiday card will now be entered into the AAF’s national competition. The national winners will be announced during a virtual awards presentation by the AAF on June 11, 2021.
