The Digital Marketing Strategist creates ideas and strategies that bridge web, mobile, creative, gaming, digital media, etc., and provides solutions to multi-service clients based on consumer insight. The strategist provides extensive knowledge of and preferably hands-on experience with as wide an array of digital communication methods as possible.

Non-Exempt Position
Hours: 40 hours/week and as needed
Experience with a wide array of digital communication methods, including but not limited to email marketing, digital ads (banner, audio, video, out-of-home), search and social media ads.
Knowledge of interactive marketing trends, concepts and practices as well as experience with offline and traditional media methods: radio, TV, OOH, print, etc.
Excellent communication skills, including the ability to think on his/her feet during presentations, explain complex or technical information in simple terms to non-technical people and persuasively sell ideas.
Strong time management skills, including the ability to manage multiple tasks, work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Willingness to be flexible and collaborative.
Intermediate knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite (including Excel, Word and PowerPoint) and Outlook.
2–4-year college degree.
Minimum of 5-7 years of digital/new media account service and/or agency/marketing services-related experience.
Experience with direct digital media placement using a Demand Side Platform (DSP)
Digital Certifications: Google Ads, Analytics, Digital Marketing
Balances technical skills with marketing agency experience and general enthusiasm for relationship marketing, advertising, branding and communications.
Advises agency and clients when advertising opportunities arise.
Recommends the most effective buying strategy based on client goals and strategic objectives.
Develops and presents multi-media (online/interactive/traditional) plans to meet client strategic goals.
Executes projects to be high quality, on time and cost-effective/on budget.
Maintain client budget spreadsheets
Works to implement multi-media plans to meet client strategic goals.
Corresponds and negotiates with media representatives to ensure the most cost-effective buys and efficient placements
Review ad schedules and draft insertion orders
Programs digital ad campaigns using a Demand Side Platform (DSP)
Monitors digital campaigns and optimizes delivery regularly
Maintains online media buying and tracking systems and software
Tracks ad campaign performance by analyzing and reporting on data in regular intervals.
Draft project activity summaries to support monthly invoices and reports to clients
Maintains records of all advertising and marketing contracts for assigned clients.
Tracks, processes and reconciles media invoices and affidavits
Research and compile statistics on reach, frequency, CPMs, cost-per-click, CTRs, unique users, page views, conversion, cost-per-action and cost-per-sale data for personal reference and to educate client service team members and clients.
Writes communications briefs, ensuring that creative and media are effectively integrated.
Communicates with internal and external teams via phone, email, in-person meetings, and virtually.
Coordinates contact with clients, media representatives, vendors, and freelancers as needed.
Represents the company at industry/client events and helps ensure that goals for company participation in each event are defined and met.
Fosters timeline development and monitors project progress using Asana software. Ensures deadlines are met and communicates with the project team.
Monitors and clarifies entries on the team calendar as necessary.
Coordinates routing of client, media, marketing and internal documents.
Builds and maintains an up-to-date directory of media contacts and resources to utilize for the agency and its clients.
Understands industry best practices and incorporates them into agency processes and client projects.

Departmental Management
Assist with clarifying and maintaining the goals of the Community Relations department; assist CR director, as needed.
Act as department manager in the director’s absence.
Supervise coordinator staff and manage coordinator personnel, resources and parameters.
Practice and encourage personal responsibility for accurate information and meeting deadlines.
Create, maintain and implement user-friendly, office-wide systems that provide ease, efficiency, consistency and productivity for all users.
Create, maintain and implement training programs for office-wide systems and the CR department.
Collaborate with CR director to support CR coordinators and planners with training, evaluation, mentoring and performance evaluations.

Education and Experience
Degree in communications, English, journalism or similar area of study is preferred.
Minimum of eight years related experience.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
Possess the ability to work in a standard office setting and use standard office equipment, including computer, copy machine, printers, etc.
Can lift and carry materials weighing up to 30 pounds, vision to read printed materials and a computer screen, and good hearing and speaking abilities to communicate in person and over the phone.
Have access to a vehicle and be able to drive at night.
Leadership and project-management skills as consultative, but decisive, decision-maker.
Excellent communication, writing, organizational and time-management skills; must be comfortable with deadlines and multitasking.
Knowledge of and proficiency with International Association for Public Participation (IAP2) Planning, Communication and Methods is preferred.
Knowledge of the full range of communications media and methods, and the most effective ways of utilizing them, including traditional and online outlets.
Professional human relations skills, including respect, diplomacy, courteousness, empathy and tact expressed in communication, appreciation and feedback in a team setting.
Proofreading written content for errors in grammar, spelling, punctuation and syntax; consistency in style, language and formatting; and verifying accuracy of reported information, names, dates, etc.
Basic mathematical computations, accounting and record-keeping; budgeting theories and principles.
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, internet browsers and Adobe Acrobat.
Standard office administrative practices and procedures, including use of standard office equipment.
Knowledge of the transportation industry and processes, including federal requirements of the National Environmental Policy Act, is preferred but not required.
Fluency in speaking and writing in Spanish is a plus.
