The Town of Sahuarita Parks, Recreation and Community Services department and Gordley Group collaborated to create a cohesive brand and website to inform the public about parks, events and programs, and encourage the public to utilize the Town’s public amenities. As part of the effort, the team also created a sales brochure targeting local businesses to promote sponsorship opportunities. The result included an increase in event attendance, newsletter open rates at 2.4 times the national average and a click rate at 3.8 times the national average, and a whopping 817% increase in sponsorship dollars.
Understanding that the Town needed the new website to be live by the end of September 2022 to allow enough time to promote and obtain sponsors for its annual Halloween Spooktacular event, the timeline needed to be condensed. First, we needed to develop a fun and whimsical brand that was differentiated from the overall Town of Sahuarita brand while still falling under that umbrella. Then the website and the sales brochure needed to be simultaneously developed.
The new website has many unique and dynamic functionalities such as an events and program page, subscribe to newsletter forms, and the ability to book amenities, report issues and learn about the fantastic parks and public art throughout the Town of Sahuarita. The last part of the website was to integrate email marketing. We created an email template that TOSPRC could use for future event promotion.
