After more than 20 years in the newspaper business, I found a new direction in public service. Working in a Tucson City Council office taught me how gratifying it is to dedicate time and energy to helping improve my community. Seven years as a senior community relations officer with the Arizona Department of Transportation introduced me to both transportation and the public involvement process - and solidified for me the importance of developing and maintaining relationships to accomplish good things. I am thrilled my path has led me to Gordley Group. I look forward to continuing my efforts to build better communities along with our great team and our partners throughout the region.

I have worked in the non-profit sector for the majority of my professional career which has given me a true sense of what it means to help other people. After growing up in South Texas, I spent the next eight years living in Oklahoma City. My husband and I recently moved to Tucson to take advantage of the outdoor activities and beautiful scenery Arizona has to offer. I’ve been in the field of graphic design and marketing since 2008. Since then I’ve had the opportunity to tackle projects that have pushed me to be a strong, well-rounded and organized designer. I love that my day is never the same. I can start my day with developing an ad for a magazine, later move to a web layout, do a photoshoot, knockout a few Spanish translations with my teammates and tackle all the small emergencies in-between. I’m a huge boxing fan and a lucky guy who has an amazing wife and family that puts up with my boxing obsession and join me when the fights are on.

Most of my professional career has been in public service. While in college, I was an intern for former Congressman Ron Barber. My main responsibility was responding to calls and documenting constituent opinions and their challenges in working with federal agencies. Although I didn’t always see the resolution, I was glad to play a role in our government giving people the opportunity to express their views and seek help. After graduating from Northern Arizona University, I joined AmeriCorps, which placed me at the Pima County Joint Technical Education District (JTED) for one year. Since then, I worked for a local non-profit where I was able to help and interact with awesome volunteers every day. I am a Tucson native and love our beautiful scenery, weather, and Wildcats.

I organize my day to accommodate the needs of our clients and staff. I’m generally the first point of contact for the public and clients. I also manage the firm’s daily calendar and meeting schedules to make sure everything runs smoothly and efficiently. As accounting assistant, I help process monthly invoices and manage accounts payable transactions. I’m raising my niece, which can be challenging, but is very rewarding.
